CARE International office in Kosovo has held two Youth Talks in Gjakova and Peja

CARE International office in Kosovo within the Kosovo Youth Participation – KYP project has held two Youth Talks in Gjakova/Đakovica and Peja/Peć.

On May 30 and 31, two roundtables were held in the municipalities of Gjakova/Đakovica and Peja/Peć, bringing together nearly 50 participants from civil society, youth centers, young people, and representatives of local institutions, those of the Directorate of Culture, Youth, and Sports and Municipal Directorates for Education.

The purpose of the roundtables was for young people to engage in interactive discussions with representatives of local institutions, analyzing their involvement in the implementation of the State Strategy for Youth (2024-2032). In addition, they jointly discussed the possibilities for planning programs for youth organizations and action plans at the local level to align with the objectives of the State Strategy for Youth.

The young participants, aged 16-29, learned about the best practices of advocacy at the national and international level, aiming to advance the priority of young people in their communities.

In the opening words, the Project Manager, Merita Bytyci Kelmendi shared more about the achievements that the KYP project has had regarding the integration of the recommendations in the State Strategy for Youth (2024-2032) based on the demands of young people from rural areas. The roundtables were led by the external expert Artan Canhasi.

From these roundtables, the young participants gave recommendations that will be addressed at the closing conference of the project, which is expected to be held on July 10, where the same will be shared with key stakeholders such as the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports, DCYS, MDE, DKA, and the European Union (EU) Office in Kosovo.

This activity is being implemented within the framework of the Kosovo Youth Participation – KYP project implemented by the CARE International office in Kosovo, with the financial support of the European Union (EU) office in Kosovo.
