Empowering Kosovo’s Future: 120 Young People Contribute to Eight Roundtables

CARE International office in Kosovo within the Kosovo Youth Participation – KYP project has closed out the Youth Talks cycle, thus conducting eight roundtables in targeted municipalities of the project.

During May and June, eight one-day roundtables were organized in the municipalities: Deçan/Dečani, Fushë Kosova/Kosovo Polje, Gjakova/Đakovica, Junik/Junik, Obiliq/Obilić, Peja/Peć, Rahovec/Orahovac, and Suharekë/Suva Reka with the participation of 120 young people, representatives of non-governmental organizations, youth councils and representatives to the Directorates for Culture, Youth and Sports and the Directorates of Education.

The purpose of the roundtables was for young people to engage in interactive discussions with representatives of local institutions, analyzing their involvement in the implementation of the State Strategy for Youth (2024-2032). In addition, they jointly discussed the possibilities for planning programs for youth organizations and action plans at the local level to align with the objectives of the State Strategy for Youth.

The young participants, aged 16-29, learned about the best practices of advocacy at the national and international level, aiming to advance the priority of young people in their communities.

From these roundtables, the young participants gave recommendations that will be addressed at the closing conference of the project, which is expected to be held on July 10, where the same will be shared with key stakeholders such as the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports, DCYS, MDE, DKA, and the European Union (EU) Office in Kosovo.

This activity is being implemented within the framework of the Kosovo Youth Participation – KYP project implemented by the CARE International office in Kosovo, with the financial support of the European Union (EU) office in Kosovo.
