The Foundation Academy of Animation as a beneficiary of financial support from CARE International through the five-month project “Education Program: Academy of Animation” has managed to engage five young men and women in the program of the paid internship program. Moreover, during the project implementation period, the Animation Academy conducted several training sessions to raise the professional capacities of young people from the Peja region.
In general, the target group of the project was focused on young people and animators in Kosovo who are interested in the animation and creative industry, including all age groups of 15-29 years and higher education institutions related to this field. Throughout the project, it was possible to realize the “Program for Professionals of the Animation Academy” in Prishtina and Peja, an initiative that offered professional training in the field of animation for young people who intend to have a career in the animation industry. Further, “Animation Club Programs” were organized which aimed to create a platform for animation industry professionals to explore an inspiring film and share their experiences after the screening.
Through a networking event between companies and young people interested in following the internship program, the networking “Matchmaking” event for the internship program was realized. From the three-month internship program, one of the interns continued regular employment in the respective company.
From this project, 47 young men and women have benefited from professional educational programs.
The Academy of Animation is the only program in Kosovo that offers specialized education in animation. She has about 6 years of experience in organizing and implementing educational programs in the field of animation, with six generations and 60 students who have completed the program. She has in the past shared resources with the Anibar organization and has 15 years of experience and a rich portfolio in the field of animation. As of 2023, the Academy of Animation has been established separately from the Anibar organization since the program and potential of the Academy have grown over the last few years, and it operates completely independently with all human and financial resources.
The Animation Academy aims to continue to provide free education to passionate young people committed to animation, adhering to an approach that values and stimulates the articulation of sensitive individual voices, regardless of their background. Furthermore, its scope includes activities aimed at educating, empowering and promoting animation production in Kosovo through various means and the profession of animators, creating a formal community of animators and strengthening the Academy to ensure sustainability and international competitiveness.
This activity is being implemented within the framework of the Kosovo Youth Participation – KYP project implemented by the CARE International office in Kosovo, with the financial support of the European Union (EU) office in Kosovo.
